OGDENSBURG -- A Rochester man was arrested Tuesday night for alleged felony crack cocaine possession, and authorities say they expect more arrests to follow.
Rashad J. Byrd, 37, of 654 English Rd., was charged with criminal possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, a Class B felony, following a vehicle stop on State Rt. 37 near Ogdensburg.
The arrest follows a crack cocaine distribution investigation by St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Drug Task Force, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.
Byrd was arraigned in Oswegatchie Town Court and was remanded to the custody of the sheriff without bail.
Sheriff's detectives were assisted by Task Force members from the New York State Police, the Ogdensburg Police Department, Gouverneur Police Department, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Detectives said the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
