New vintage-style poster collection celebrates the beauty of St. Lawrence County

CANTON — The St. Lawrence County tourism office has released a new collection of illustrated posters and coordinating merchandise celebrating the landscapes, communities, and outdoor experiences that define St. Lawrence County.

Designed by local artist Catherine LaPointe-Vollmer of Lionheart Graphics, the collection features three original illustrations representing the county's distinct tourism regions: the St. Lawrence Seaway, River Valley, and Adirondack Foothills. Each piece showcases recognizable landmarks, recreation, wildlife, and local character through a timeless, vintage-inspired travel poster style.

The artwork is now available for purchase exclusively from the St. Lawrence County (STLC) Visitor Center in Canton as full-size posters, postcards, magnets, and stickers.

The collection was developed to offer visitors a meaningful souvenir while providing residents with artwork that celebrates the place they call home.

"Travel posters have long inspired people to explore destinations and remember the places they've visited," said Tiffani Amo, Director of Tourism for St. Lawrence County. "We wanted to create something that captures the personality of St. Lawrence County while showcasing the incredible diversity of experiences found across our communities. Whether you're drawn to the river, the villages, or the Adirondack foothills, there's a piece that reflects that connection."

The launch is the first step in developing the Visitor Center’s locally inspired merchandise collection, with future releases planned. It offers travelers another way to support North Country artists while commemorating their visit.

Located at 101 Main Street in Canton, the STLC Visitor Center welcomes guests each year seeking travel information, trip planning assistance, maps, guides, and recommendations for exploring the county. The new merchandise is available while supplies last and is expected to appeal to collectors, history enthusiasts, outdoor recreation lovers, and those with ties to the region.

The collection also makes an ideal gift for former residents, college alumni, seasonal visitors, and anyone looking to bring a piece of the North Country into their home or office.

Visitors are encouraged to stop by the STLC Visitor Center in Canton to view the collection in person while picking up complimentary travel resources, including the 2026 Visitor Guide, event information, and outdoor recreation maps to help plan their next St. Lawrence County adventure.

Limited artwork stock will also be made available for purchase at both satellite chamber offices in Massena and Ogdensburg with limited hours. Online sales are not currently available though Amo says it is an option that is slated to be implemented in the coming year.
