More than 700 people are without power in St. Lawrence County following a night of heavy rain and strong winds, according to National Grid.
The company's map says an outage in the Canton area is affecting over 500 customers with nearly 200 customers impacted in the Town of Hermon.
Less than five homes in the villages of Canton and Hermon are without power, the service says.
A few customers are also in the dark in Parishville, Piercefield and Russell, National Grid said.
Power is expected to be restored to all above areas between 6:15 and 8:30 a.m.
A wind advisory is in effect for St. Lawrence County until 8 p.m. with winds of gusts as high as 50 mph expected, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
More power outages are expected throughout the day, NWS says.
