MASSENA – Massena Memorial Hospital employees recently donated 63 articles of warm winter outerwear to Massena Central School students.
Massena Central School Superintendent Patrick Brady and School Nurse Anne Marie Miller, RN, accepted the donations on behalf of the students.
Beginning in mid-November, MMH employees, auxiliary members, and the board of managers began dropping off new and gently used coats, gloves, scarves and snow suits for the winter coat donation drive.
“We know how brutal our North Country winters can be. Everyone, especially children, need a good warm winter clothing to keep the winter chill away,” Senior Public Relations Director Tina Corcoran said. “We are glad we could do our small part in keeping children warm this winter.”
Massena Central School nursing staff are distributing the clothing to children in grades K through 12.
Superintendent Patrick Brady expressed appreciation for the hospital employees’ donation.
“We are grateful for our partnership with the Massena Memorial Hospital. The generosity of MMH employees, especially at this time of year, is sincerely appreciated,” Brady said. “Our community is strengthened by such acts of kindness for our children and families”
