The Saints struggles against league opponents continued Sunday afternoon, as they fell to Hobart 6-3 in Newell Field House. John Megas led the Scarlet and Brown with a pair of wins.
Hobart led 2-1 after doubles play, with the lone St. Lawrence win coming from the team of Megas and classmate Tom Luchars in the third position, who downed Ben Robison and Carson Smith 8-3.
Megas' second win came in the second singles position, as he battled back after dropping the first set 1-6 to win the second 6-3, and take the third via a tiebreak 7-6 (9-7). Sophomore Robert Schmitz also grabbed a three-set win for the Saints, topping Matt DePrima 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
One non-conference contest remains for St. Lawrence (8-8, 1-3) in the regular season, as they will travel to Nazareth on April 26 for a 12 p.m. match in Rochester.
