OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center has hired a new medical oncologist.
Dr. Uday Lele comes to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, MA, where he did a clinical fellowship in hematology and medical oncology and served as chief fellow.
Dr. Lele earned his medical doctor degree, at L.T.M. Medical College in Mumbai affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India.
He also holds a master’s degree in public health (MPH) through Temple University in Philadelphia. His residency in internal medicine was completed at MetroWest Medical Center affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine in Framingham, MA. During residency training, he was selected for best teaching resident award for two years in a row.
He has actively participated in clinical research and presented his work at numerous national meetings. He is board certified in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Lele enjoys reading, watching sports, spending time with family and traveling. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi.
