MASSENA – Emmanuel Congregational United Church of Christ, 39 W. Orvis St., will host a concert in honor of veterans Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m.
Featured artists include:
• James Phillips performing patriotic music.
• The Mohawk Singers from Akwesasne. This is a group that was formed 9-10 years ago for the purpose of translating hymns into Mohawk. Carol Ross is the translator for the group and has translated the lyrics.
• The Adirondack Harmony Company, a Barbershop quartet. They have traveled extensively to various competitions, including competing on the international level. The quartet has been entertaining folks since the mid 1970’s with their large selection of music sung in the barbershop harmony style. Three of the members have been barbershop chorus directors. Over the last couple of years the quartet has been focusing on songs with comedy as a main theme, just because it’s fun.
The concert is free. Donations are welcome and proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project whose mission is to "honor and empower wounded veterans.”
