MASSENA -- A Massena woman is facing numerous counts after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident while intoxicated with a child in her vehicle.
Tanya M. Sochia, 32, of Bucktown Road is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, possession of a controlled substance outside original container, driving while ability impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and improper lane use, police said.
After hitting a power pole in the parking lot, she was allegedly found in possession of Lyrica pills, for which she did not have a prescription, in a container for another medication, according to court documents.
All of this happened with an 11-year-old girl in the back seat, the documents say.
Sochia was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald Sharlow and released under supervision of the county Probation Department.
