MASSENA -- The Board of Education announced Thursday that they turned down both finalists in their search for a new superintendent of schools.
“We have agreed the school district will benefit from continuing our search,” board vice president Ron Faucher said. He added that the board made the call after meeting both candidates and conferring with various stakeholder groups, including teachers, students, administration and non-instructional staff.
Faucher said the next step will be to appoint a new interim superintendent at some point in the near future, but he didn’t indicate when. The current top administrator is William Crist, whose interim appointment expires at the end of the school year.
The two people under consideration for permanent superintendent were Lisa Grenville, a K-12 supervisor for the St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES in the Potsdam region and Dr. David J. Glover, currently the superintendent of schools for the Morristown Central School District.
