MASSENA – A Massena man is being held on a felony assault charge after stomping a man’s head during what witnesses told police was an unprovoked argument.
Cory A. Tuper, 27, of 111 Woodlawn Avenue is facing one count of second-degree assault.
He attacked Mark LeFrancois in the front of yard Tuper’s residence after getting into an argument, police said. He then allegedly punched him in the face several times and kicked him in the head around a dozen times while on the ground in a fetal position.
LeFrancois sought medical attention afterward for a large lump under his left eye and bleeding from the eye.
Tuper was arraigned in Massena Village Court before Justice Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton in lieu of $1,500 bail or $3,000 bond.
