MASSENA – In partnership with the Massena Village Police Department, Massena Masonic Lodge will be holding a free Safety ID event at the Massena Rescue Squad Open House, 341 East Orvis St., on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
Parents will complete a short questionnaire and sign a permission slip; they will receive a CD-ROM of information, including fingerprints and photos of their child, a laminated ID card, and a printout. No appointments are necessary.
All information is given to the parents; only permission slips are retained.
The New York Masonic Safety Identification Program addresses the alarming fact that many children, students, and adults are reported missing in the United States each year.
They urge all families to keep this important, updateable information in a safe place, and take it with you when traveling with children. This information can aid in the safe recovery of a lost or missing child.
This program is sponsored by New York State Masons, and is free to all families.
For more information and an advance questionnaire and permission slip, contact: John Schneider, District Child ID Chairman 250-1765, jschneider2@twcny.rr.com.
Permission slips are also available online at http://mastermason.com/stlawrencefreemason/forms.html.
