Churches in Massena, Ogdensburg, Gouverneur and Winthrop are all participating in Operation Christmas Child, to help needy overseas children.
Operation Christmas Child is project of international Christian relief and evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse, based in North Carolina.
In St. Lawrence County, the goal is to fill 500 shoe boxes with school supplies, toys, hygiene items and notes for needy kids overseas.
Volunteers can drop off their shoe boxes at:
• New Testament Church, 265 Andrews St., Massena
• New Life Assembly of God, 929 Park St., Ogdenbsurg
• Fowler Baptist Church, 8 Balmat-Fowler Rd., Gouverneur
• Victory Baptist Church, 610 State Rt. 11C, Winthrop.
People are also requested to volunteer at a collection site or enlist others to fill boxes for donation.
