MASSENA -- Forty-year old Massena native Windy DeRushia is the starting goalie for the North Country Community College Saints lacrosse team.
She has never played the sport before, but has been an athlete her having played women's professional football.
DeRushia says she is like a coach on the field.
The Saints lacrosse team is in their second season.
The Saints have played four games so far with games in Saranac Lake at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday April 22 and 12:30 p.m. April 23.
It is an "insane sport," she said. She described herself as "bruised from head to toe." She also said she is "truly falling in love with the sport," and that it is a challenge for her.
Windy is the daughter of David and Wanda DeRushia.
