MASSENA -- The Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation recently donated $5,000 to the hospital to cover the cost of replacing nutritional services’ main food preparation kettle.
The donation replaced the original kettle from 1952.
The large capacity kettle is necessary for the nutritional services staff to properly prepare the large quantities of food necessary to serve patients, staff and visitors.
“The funding for the new kettle was made possible through our restricted endowment, which includes the bequest of Miles Green. The Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation is able to use a portion of the income generated annually to assist the hospital with equipment replacement and purchases,” said Julia Rose, foundation executive director.
“It is as important to the MMH Foundation, as it was to Mr. Green, that we support all areas of the hospital in any way we can,” Rose said. “We are thrilled to support the nutritional services department. The department does an outstanding job offering a wide range of food options.”
