Three local fire departments will join others across the state opening their doors to residents the weekend Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 as part of the 15th annual RecruitNY weekend.

This event is a major initiative of the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) designed to help increase volunteer membership in local fire departments.

Participating from St. Lawrence County with open houses on April 14 are:  

• Hannawa Falls Volunteer Fire Department, 36 Mill St., (315) 265-4161;
• West Potsdam Vol Fire Department, 801 County Route 34, Potsdam, (315) 265-2577; and
• Massena Volunteer Fire Department, 34 Andrews St., (315) 769-2380.
