Massena’s Business Development Corporation (BDC) is seeking community members who want to get involved in its downtown revitalization project, Village Trustee Patricia Wilson said at the board’s meeting Tuesday night. Wilson and Trustee Timothy Ahfeld serve as the board’s economic development committee.
BDC Director Tom Sullivan said the downtown revitalization coalition’s committee heads will meet Thursday to iron out mission statements. The coalition was created as part of the village going after the state Main Street Grant Program, Sullivan said.
“[The downtown revitalization coalition] has a number of subcommittees looking at different aspects in the community,” Sullivan said. Some of the subgroups he mentioned are looking at the former movie theater on Main Street, recruitment, and green spaces.
Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the BDC at 705-0009. Thursday’s meeting will at 9 a.m. at 92 Main Street.
