CANTON -- A local anti-Trump group will join a national protest Jan. 15 with a demonstration and march in the village concerning fixing and saving the Affordable Care Act, saving Social Security, and defending Medicare and Medicaid.
“Write the Power: NY District 21,” a self-described movement of county citizens who’ve joined together to oppose the Trump agenda, will lead the local protest Sunday in opposition to the proposed repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
The group will lead a march at 1 p.m. from the Canton Village Green to the Outer Main Street medical building and then return to the Main Street Unitarian-Universalist Church. At the church, the group plans for testimony from local residents enrolled in health insurance through the ACA, and a brief speech that describes the group’s position on the repeal, and writing of letters to the editor and Congressional representatives.
