WADDINGTON -- Two St. Lawrence County residents were jailed on assault and other charges following fight at Waddington beach in which a man was struck with a baseball bat.
St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies received a complaint of a male who had been hit in the legs with a bat.
Deputies say an investigation revealed Kasey E. Jones, 18, of North Lawrence, had struck the man with the bat. During the confrontation between multiple people, Sarah E. Fenn, 21, allegedly violated a no-contact order of protection against another person involved, police said..
Deputies say that during the confrontation the male shattered the rear window out of Fenn’s vehicle while her 2-year-old son was in the back seat.
Jones was charged with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
Fenn was charged with third-degree assault on another female involved in the incident, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree criminal contempt.
Deputies say they are seeking a warrant for other suspects involved and more charges are pending.
Both Jones and Fenn were held on $1,500 cash bail.
