POTSDAM – A man has been charged with bashing a car windshield with a brick and also entering a residence and causing damage there.
Hans C. Carpio, 20, Newburgh, was arrested by Potsdam police Sunday and charged with third-degree criminal trespass, fourth-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal mischief: damage another’s property greater than $250.
The incidents allegedly took place Saturday at the Lower Woodstock parking lot at Clarkson University and in the vicinity of Pierrepont Avenue and Bay Street.
Police spoke with witnesses who told them that Carpio was seen throwing a brick into the windshield of a parked vehicle several times causing the windshield to shatter.
In the second incident, witnesses reported Carpio was seen inside a residence where he disrupted and damaged property belonging to the residents.
Carpio is to appear in Potsdam Village Court April 18.
