POTSDAM – Insurance agent and agency owner William Hayman is retiring after nearly 37 years at the William Hayman Agency, which he is selling to Kevin Daniels of Potsdam.
The Hayman Agency, representing Nationwide Insurance, has offices at 20 Elm St., Potsdam and 63 Main St., Canton.
Daniels, a graduate of SUNY Canton and a Potsdam resident, has been working as a licensed agent with Hayman.
Hayman says staff members Tanya Delosh and Myra Grady in Potsdam, Canton manager Alan Daniels, and claim adjuster Jim Stickney, will remain.
Hayman, a graduate of Potsdam Central and St. Lawrence University, became a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter in 1984. In 2000, his Canton office opened with the purchase of the Eugene Seeley Agency.
Hayman says he is grateful to the customers who employed the services of his agency over the years.
“It was truly a career, and it was nice,” Hayman said.
He and his wife Chrystal will continue to live in Potsdam.
Kevin Daniels lives with his wife Elizabeth and a set of twin children in Potsdam. He may be reached at 265-2140.
