MADRID — A local youth helped paint fire hydrants in the Village of Madrid as part of an Eagle Scout project as part of the Waddington Boy Scout Troop 83.
Trevor Tryon and 14 other members of his troop painted 44 hydrants as part of the community service project.
He divided the volunteers into work groups, gave them paint and supplies and sent them to different areas to paint.
He said it felt good to contribute to the community.
