MORLEY -- A traditional service of lessons and carols will be held at Trinity Chapel in Morley on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 5 p.m.

Music will be provided by the fiddler Don Woodcock, cellist Rachel O’Donnell, and others.

It is rumored that Father Christmas (a.k.a. Father Michael O’Donnell) will make an appearance with treats for children.

There will be light refreshments and conversation afterwards.

Trinity Chapel is the stone church located ¼ mile west of the intersection of County Routes 14 and 27 in the hamlet of Morley.

The 19th-century Episcopal church was added in 1990 to the National Register of Historic Places.

According to the National Register, the distinctive Gothic revival structure was built by Charles Haight.

It was consecrated in 1871 by the Bishop of Albany.

Haight was also the builder of the historic grist mill in Morley.

Major restoration work has been done at the church in recent years.
