Leo H. LaPoint, 83, Potsdam

POTSDAM -- Mr. Leo H. LaPoint, age 83 of Potsdam, NY passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2024.

Funeral services for Leo will be held on Tuesday, April 23rd at 5 pm at the Garner Funeral Service with Rev. Joseph Giroux celebrant.

Burial will take place in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Garner Funeral Service on Tuesday from 2-5pm.

Leo is survived by sons, Brad, Michael and Peter (Tammy) Lapoint; daughters, Tracy (Dale) Champion and Kimberly Pryce; grandchildren, Heather, Shannon, Kevin, Brandon, Matthew, Zachary, Nicholas, Thomas and Kaelyn and great grandchildren, Hailey, David, Declan, Zander, Callen, Orin and Evelyn.

He is predeceased by his wife, Bonnie LaPoint, his brothers, Donald, Ronnie, Robert and Stanley and his sisters, Beverly, Norma, Barbara and Eleanor.

Mr. Leo H. LaPoint was born July 1, 1940, in Potsdam, NY to the late Homer LaPoint and Harriet Jerome.

He attended Potsdam Central Schools.

On February 27, 1960, he was married to Bonnie L. LaBrake. Together they enjoyed spending time with their family, dancing and traveling.

Leo enjoyed hunting and fishing and feeding the deer in his back yard.

For over 35 years Leo worked in the Pot rooms at Alcoa until his retirement. While there he played for the Alcoa softball team for years.
