OSWEGATCHIE – A landlord-tenant dispute that escalated to physical contact resulted in charges against the landlord that include felony driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.
The landlord, Kevin S. McAllister, 43, of 508 Crescent St., Ogdensburg, entered the tenant’s house on Horseshoe Road and an argument about the condition of the property ensued, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies.
McAllister allegedly grabbed the tenant’s arm in the presence of two children and refused to leave the house.
The tenant told deputies that McAllister was intoxicated when he drove away.
McAllister was located by deputies a short time later. They report his blood alcohol level was .19 percent, more than twice the threshold for a DWI charge.
McAllister was charged with felony aggravated DWI, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree harassment, and a violation of a license restriction.
He was arraigned in Canton Town Court and released to the supervision of probation authorities.
