Senior Lauren Dahm (Baldwinsville, NY) posted a career-high 46 saves to give the Clarkson University Women’s Hockey team a chance against the University of Minnesota on Saturday afternoon, but the Golden Knights ’ offensive woes continue against the national powerhouse as the Gophers earned a 3-0 victory at Cheel Arena.Clarkson also lost to fourth-ranked Minnesota 5-0 on Friday.Clarkson, behind the stellar effort of Dahm, held the Gophers off the scoreboard for over 35 minutes, before the visitors finally put one past the Knights’ all-star goaltender. Friday night’s offensive star, Amanda Kessel came through for Minnesota late in the second period when she scored an unassisted tally on a quick wrist shot from the right circle at 16:39.Minnesota, which enjoyed nine power plays in the contest, added two man-advantage markers in the final frame to seal the win. Anne Schleper connected at 8:52 followed by Megan Bozek at 14:40.Clarkson went 0-of-6 on the man advantage and killed off seven of nine Minnesota power plays. The Gophers out shot the Green and Gold 49-18, including a 35-10 margin over the final 40 minutes.The Knights, who entered the week ranked seventh in the national polls, take to the road next weekend playing at the University of Connecticut and Providence College on Saturday and Sunday.
