Clinton, NY - All twelve members of the Clarkson University Volleyball team's roster made key contributions as the Golden Knights recorded their fourth consecutive 20-win season with sweeps of SUNY Cobleskill and Anna Maria Friday night at the Hamilton Invitational.
The Golden Knights improved to 20-6 overall on the season, breaking out of a two-match losing streak. The team will play host Hamilton College and Keuka College on Saturday in an attempt to win another tournament this season.
In the first match, Cobleskill was little match for the defending Liberty League champions as the Golden Knights won 25-5, 25-11, 25-15. Freshmen Erika Chin (Katy, TX) and Lani Durio (Austin, TX) combined for 33 assists and 8 kills, while Nicole Edwards (Weiser, ID) led the team with 11 kills on only 16 swings.
The second match proved to move just as quickly, as Clarkson won in three once again, 25-15, 25-15, 25-6. Durio made 26 assists in the second match of the night, with Sara Artus (St. Regis Falls, NY) leading creating 12 kills and Megan Mahon (Irvine, CA) recording nine kills. Rachel Simons (Webster, NY) posted seven kills against one error in nine attempts.
