Syracuse, NY – Austin Johnston (Auburn, NY) and Tom Lauzon (Bombay, NY) both finished in the top 50 individually at the 2014 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships at the Drumlins Golf Club on Friday.
The duo led the Roos to a 10th place finish out of the 21 team field, a five place improvement from last year's race. The Roos finished with a team score of 316. Johnston posted a 42nd place finish covering the 8-kilometer course in 29:34, while Lauzon was just three seconds back in 45th place.
Shawn Deibel (Albion, NY) finished in the top 75 in a time of 30:45, while Antonio Kadylak (Johnson City, NY) clocked a 31:31 (89th). Matthew Lindke (Webster, NY) crossed the line in 147th place (35:21), while Matt Fortin (Liberty, NY) wasn't far behind in 35:37.
Bryant Cotey (Norwood, NY) raced to a 36:10 finish, while Josh May (Glenville, NY) finished the 8K in 37:47. Cortland Mowery (Elizabethtown, NY) rounded out the Roo runners in 39:53.
This closes out the 2014 season for the men's cross country team.
