The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association honored 61 Division III teams, including St. Lawrence University, for their academic efforts throughout the 2010 season.
To earn Academic Honors from the IWLCA, a women's lacrosse team must boast a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
"I'm very proud of the way our team performed both on the field and in the classroom last season," said St. Lawrence's head coach of women's lacrosse Jodi Canfield, whose teams have earned IWLCA Academic honors each year since her opening season in 2000 . "This is an outstanding achievement for our team we'll continue to match that same effort in 2011."
In addition, two members of the Saints' Class of 2010, Anna Parrott and Mary Jane Sweetland, earned spots on the IWLCA's Academic Honor Roll. The duo was two of 184 student-athletes who were recognized for their work in the classroom. Parrott was an Environmental Sociology major, while Sweetland was a dual-major in Spanish and Fine Arts.
