POTSDAM — An intro to fishing clinic will be offered Saturday, June 23, from 9-11 a.m. at Ives Park.
Nature Up North will host the clinic and teach participants how to cast and about local fish.
Fishing poles will be provided.
Once a year, New York State opens up their waters for free fishing for NYS residents, so no previous experience or fishing license required.
About 10 fishing poles will be provided but feel free to bring your own gear.
Sunscreen, water, and a camera are recommended.
Be prepared to get wet.
Shorts and close-toed sandals or old sneakers are ideal for wading in the water.
