CORNWALL -- Eleven well known and celebrated Indigenous fashion designers are traveling from near and far to Cornwall, Ontario for a fashion show on Dec. 1.
The event will take place at the Port Theatre and doors open at 7pm.
Tickets are available at local businesses -- Babes Cosmetics, Creations Salon, The UPS Store Akwesasne -- and the Port Theatre.
Red Berry Woman, a designer from North Dakota, will be present. She is the first contemporary Native American fashion designer to have a gown worn at the Oscars.
CBC and Akwesasne TV will cover the event live.
Kelly Holmes, editor in Chief of Native Max Magazine, will be the lead MC for Fashion After Dark. She will cover the event for Native Max magazine and is traveling from Denver, Colo., said a press release.
Sixty-two models from Northern New York, Akwesasne, Cornwall, Kahnawake, Six Nations, and Onondaga will be featured walking the runway, along with professional model Summer Beaches.
Tickets are $25 and are on sale at The Port Theatre in Cornwall, Ontario.
