I absolutely agree that the Village of Canton has a historic opportunity to make the village more efficient and attractive to business, vehicle traffic, pedestrians and residents by realigning Miner Street. Once the new store and gas station is built on the corner, it will be much more expensive and difficult to implement this solution down the road. NYS DOT is already working on Rt.11 in and around the village, and there is work scheduled for next year to rebuild the water and sewer infrastructure beneath Main Street. Of course, it will cost money, but the improvement in the quality of life in the downtown core of the village would benefit everyone for generations to come. How about a little vision here!
