CANTON — St. Lawrence County District Attorney Gary M. Pasqua, today announced that Arric Hunter of Heuvelton was found guilty of Rape in the First Degree by a St. Lawrence County trial jury.
Hunter was convicted of gagging and forcibly raping a 14-year-old female child at knife point on Feb. 5, 2021, according to a press release.
Hunter is scheduled to be sentenced on Monday, May 23 and faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison as a persistent felony offender, Pasqua said.
“This defendant now stands convicted of his 6th felony offense, and second violent felony offense. He is a danger to every man, woman, and child in St. Lawrence County. I commend the courage of the victim to come forward in this case,” he said.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the New York State Police Forensic Identification Unit and the North Country Crime Analysis Center assisted with the prosecution.
