HEUVELTON – A Heuvelton fabrication shop contributed to the creation of the world’s largest cheesecake created last Saturday.
The 6,900-pound cheesecake was made by Kraft, Philadelphia, in Lowville.
In order to create the massive treat, Kraft enlisted Jim Beyette of UDMC/Weldtek, which operates a fabrication shop in Heuvelton.
Beyette, an Ogdensburg resident, said he was approached by Kraft to fabricate the giant pan, which measured 90 inches in diameter by 36 inches deep.
UDMC/Weldtek designs, fabricates and installs processing systems and equipment for the food and beverage industry on worldwide and maintains a location in Heuvelton.
Beyette said Guinness was on hand to acknowledge the record.
