CANTON -- Herbalist Jane Desotelle of Underwood Herbs in Plattsburgh will lead a walk around Canton’s Heritage Island on Sunday, June 1, sharing her experience and knowledge about how to identify, ethically collect, and use wild plants.
The walk will start from The TAUNY Center, 53 Main St., and be followed by a demonstration back at TAUNY where Desotelle will offer samples of tea and jellies made from wild plants.
Make sure to wear shoes and clothing comfortable for a walk, and check the TAUNY website for weather-related updates.
Desotelle is a TAUNY Heritage Award recipient and owner of Underwood Herbs in Plattsburgh. She helped start the Adirondack Farmers’ Market Cooperative, Inc., and manages the Plattsburgh Botanical Sanctuary. The cost of Sunday’s tour and demonstration is $15 ($12 for TAUNY Friends), and pre-registration is required.
