Helen Clark Finley, 88, formerly of Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Helen Clark Finley, 88, of Cicero, NY and Zephyrhills, Fl., passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, in Sarasota, Fl.

Born in Ogdensburg, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Jessie (Scott) Clark.

She graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1952 and from Potsdam State Teacher's College with a bachelor's degree in education.

On April 21, 1957, she married Robert "Bob" Finley at the Presbyterian Church in Heuvelton.

Helen taught elementary classes at the Sherman School, Ogdensburg, NY, the US Government School in Pirmasens, Germany and retired in 1994 from Cicero Elementary School.

She was a member of Cicero United Methodist Church and active in their ladies groups and with Boy Scout Troop 117.

Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Robert Finley, she is survived by her sons, Michael (Carol) Finley of Bradenton, FL and David (Yinka) Finley of Stoughton, MA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jordan (Maureen) Finley, Eryn (Chris) Hagood and Esme Finley; great grandchildren, Brynn Finley, Amelia Finley and Warren Hagood and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm followed by a service at Fergerson Funeral Home, 215 South Main Street, North Syracuse.

Burial will be at 1 pm in Hillcrest Cemetery, Heuvelton on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
