HANNAWA FALLS — A Hannawa Falls man whose father attended lunches at Helping Hands has donated $5,000 to the organization.
Paul Brown, pictured above, recently surprised Helping Hands with the $5,000 donation.
“Paul is our neighbor down the road, before his dad passed he used to bring him to HH for the community lunch, since then,Paul has been a regular at the lunch,” said Tom Chappell, Helping Hands executive director.
Brown would bring his father, Ernie Brown, to Helping Hands after Ernie’s wife passed away in 2017.
Paul said Helping Hands was a “great place” to bring his father following the death.
Helping Hands provides home furnishings and support for families who could use help with food and other daily needs.
“They also provide a lunch Monday - Thursday for anyone that wants to stop by,” Brown said. “This lunch provided my father with positive companionship and conversation with the kind Volunteers and other seniors in the area. Keep up the great work, Pastor Tom Chappell and the volunteers at Helping Hands Hannawa Falls.”
