To the Editor:
The Potsdam Charity Hankfest Group would like to thank our sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and audience for their support and contributions to our country music festival held on Aug. 11.
The $417 raised will support this year’s chosen charity: The Birthplace at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Our sponsors and donors include: David & Terri Church, North Country Savings Bank-Potsdam Branch, Scoopuccino’s, First Crush, Pizza Hut-Potsdam, Parkway Ford, The Frame Mill, North Country Neighbors, St. Lawrence Chocolates, My Studio, Billy’s Deli, Jreck Subs, Northern Music & Video, Jernabi Coffeehouse, Misty Hollow, Munson’s Mini Mart in Brasher, IGA Express in Brasher Falls, Primabella’s Pizza, B&W Quick Stop, The Cornerstore, and The Potsdam Chamber of Commerce. We thank them for their support this year.
We also wish to acknowledge the crafter vendors and Rosie’s Hawg Dogs who participated this year for the first time, and bravely set up despite the weather forecast.
We wish to acknowledge the additional efforts and support of the following: The Mega Reunion organizers, Misty Hollow (window display), Potsdam Rescue Squad, Building Blocks Day Care, Janice & Fonda from The UPS Store, Marylee at the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce, Dan’s Plumbing & Heating, and the Village of Potsdam. In addition, we offer thanks to Scott Dozstan for again offering his talent with the emcee duties. Finally, we appreciate Sheri Lynn Digiovanna’s contribution of acquiring autographed Hank Williams Jr. posters for the group to use to raise funds. The group has honored Sheri Lynn and Hank Williams Jr. with honorary membership in the Official Potsdam Charity Hankfest Group. They will be receiving a certificate and membership card in the near future.
Finally, we recognize and thank the musicians and volunteers who give of their talent and time: Oshier Country, Troy O’Brien, Classic Country, and The Percussion Group. We deeply appreciate the time and effort put in by Colleen Oshier and Skip Perry. Their assistance has contributed greatly to the success and growth of Hankfest.
Unfortunately the weather cut the event short, but we hope to see you at next year’s event on Aug. 10, 2013.
Gregory Bouchard
President of Potsdam Hankfest
