HAMMOND -- The Hammond Fire and Rescue Field Day will be held Saturday, July 15, at the fire station located at 200 Lake St.
The day starts off at 2 p.m. with a chicken barbeque and craft fair.
The Firemen’s Parade follows at 7 p.m. and features many area high school bands, civic organizations and local groups.
Fire Chief Jon Bass describes the event, “as a fun family day with lots of things to do for kids of all ages.”
The auction, bounce house and kids games will open immediately after the parade and the day concludes with a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Refreshments are available on the grounds throughout the day.
Anyone wishing to donate items or gift certificates for the auction can contact any Hammond firefighter, or drop it off at the station any evening after 6:30 p.m.
