OGDENSBURG – If you would like to join ham radio operators on the air around the world, you can learn how at classes to be held by the Ogdensburg Amateur Radio Club starting Feb. 3.
They will prepare students to take the technician-class and general-class amateur license tests administered by the Federal Communications Commission.
Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. starting Thursday, Feb. 3 at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Academy, 315 Gates St., and running for the next seven Thursday evenings.
The exams will be given there at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 26. The courses are free, but students must cover half of the cost of required books. The FCC test costs $15. The club asks that people register for the classes by Jan. 15.
