POTSDAM — Potsdam will hold a grand-reopening of Postwood Park Sunday, Aug. 1, with live music and activities for kids.
A ribbon cutting cerenmony will be at 10 a.m., followed by activities. Events will kick off with music by 11B from 11 a.m. to 1 o.m.
A yoga class will be offered at 11 a.m. by Sarah Morrill.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A “touch a truck event” will allow children to get up close and personal with an emergency vehicle.
Children are encouraged to bring white shirts to tie-dye.
Face painting, temporary tattoos and bracelet making events will also be held.
Finally a “learn to kayak and paddle board” class will be offered.
The event marks new leadership for Postwood Park, which had traditionally been operated by the Potsdam Joint Recreation Committee, however citing a heavy workload Recreation Director Trey Smutz had planned to not staff the beach this season, which prompted the town to take over operations with Michelle Garrow at the helm.
