NORWOOD — A Gouverneur woman was charged Monday following a stolen vehicle investigation on South Main Street, according to state police.
Troopers were reportedly assisting St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies by attempting to locate a stolen white 2016 Chrysler 300.
Troopers traveling on South Main Street observed a similar vehicle parked in the parking lot of the 711-gas station.
Police identified the operator as Michelle C. Little, 28.
Troopers confirmed with the county sheriffs that the vehicle was stolen and informed them they located the vehicle and the possible suspect.
Little was detained until deputies arrived.
Little informed troopers she had an active warrant for violating probation, officers said. She was placed under arrest and searched, police said. Little was found to be in possession of heroin.
Deputies arrived on scene soon thereafter and took Little into custody on the stolen vehicle complaint.
Little was also charged by troopers with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
She was transported to the St. Lawrence/ Jefferson County line and transferred over to the custody of Troop D patrols for her warrants.
