GOUVERNEUR -- For National Hospital week May 8 to 14, Gouverneur Hospital is partnering with the St. Lawrence County Sheriffs’ Association to register local children with the New York State Safe Child ID Card.
This card contains the child’s name; biographical information including date of birth, gender, height, weight, hair color and eye color; and a fingerprint image of both index fingers.
It takes less than two minutes and can be easily carried in a wallet or pocketbook, according to a press release from Gouverneur Hospital.
The cards allow law enforcement quick access to pertinent information that could assist an investigation or search in the event a child is missing.
Deputy Ryan Bogardus will be onsite to register local children from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 12 in the hospital’s Community Room, in the east wing of the former nursing home at 77 West Barney St.
