GOUVERNEUR -- Gouverneur Central School student Sarah Yablonski won a Canton Goldenaires scholarship.
Yablonski was presented with the award when she visited and sang with the Goldenaires.
Yablonski qualified for the award due to her “extremely high academic achievements and her involvement in many school and local community activities,” according to a press release from Ben Budelmann.
She plays the saxophone and participates in school bands, concerts and choruses.
Gouverneur students have won Goldenaires scholarships three times in the last five years.
The scholarship program has provided more than $12,000 to students in St. Lawrence County.
