Several local students recently received $800 scholarships from the L. Wayne Strader Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Winners included Marisa Paradis and Kayla Myers of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School, Nevin Hardy of Norwood-Norfolk Central School and Rebecca Burns of Potsdam Central School.
The winners received certificates.
They and their families were treated to a picnic in June.
The scholarship money will be sent directly to the winners’ college of choice and applied to tuition.
The fifth L. Wayne Strader ride May 16, along personal donations and gifts from local businesses raised the money.
Since its start in 2011, the Strader fund has awarded over $10,000 in scholarships to local students.
