MASSENA -- A former Massena man has penned a novel about growing up in the North Country in the 1950s.
Ray Hazel is the author of “The Dusty Trail.”
The book tells the tale of a relationship between a 70-year-old great uncle and an 11-year-old boy, according to Hazel’s website.
The man teaches the boy about hunting, trapping and fishing, with one of their main missions to slay a buck called The Grey Ghost, the site says.
Hazel says the book is appropriate for people 13 and up.
He said he is aranging appearances in North Country locations in June.
It is on sale at Willow Tree in Potsdam, the SLU Brewer Bookstore in Canton, Sullivan's Gift Shop in Massena, and online.
