CANTON -- The St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees has chosen an SLU graduate and former GE Real Estate senior manager as the newest board member.
Nicoline Carlson Sawabini, a 1979 graduate, is the newest member of the board.
Sawabini recently retired as a managing director for risk management at GE Capital Commercial Real Estate. She joined General Electric’s financial management program after graduating from St. Lawrence and held numerous assignments at GE Investment Corporation, GE Corporate Headquarters and at GE Capital, the school said.
During her 36 years with GE, Sawabini led global teams that have performed due diligence and closings on billions of dollars of complex real estate transactions, the school said.
She graduated from St. Lawrence cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
