RAYMONDVILLE -- With the schools closed for two weeks for winter recess, it may be difficult for families of children who receive support of free or reduced school meals to cover the extra two meals each day when that support is not in place.
The Norfolk Raymondville Food Pantry distributes on the third Saturday of each month from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Norfolk United Methodist Church, 9 West Main St., Norfolk.
“We are a five day food pantry, which means we provide 5 days (3 meals per day) of meals for each member of the household,” said Wendy Chambers of the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry.
Emergency food pickup can be arranged by calling 315-212-0520 and a mutually convenient time to meet and get food can be arranged.
“Those in need of extra food over this break, or ever for that matter, please consider utilizing your local food pantry,” she said.
