GOUVERNEUR – A home burned on Rastley Road Tuesday night.
Gouverneur Fire Department said they responded to a house fire at 11:27 p.m. but were unable to save the home because it had been burning for some time.
“The house was located on a very narrow dead end road which caused difficulties with water operations,” officials said in an online statement.
The house was deemed a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said.
There were no injuries reported.
Morristown and Oxbow fire departments provided mutual aid.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family for the loss of their home,” Gouverneur fire said.
