Firefighters begin to battle flames at tractor shop in DePeyster.
DEPEYSTER — A fire Friday afternoon on State Highway 184 at a shop caused minor damage and one person was treated for smoke inhalation, according to Heuvelton Fire Department Chief Nick Friot.
The fire was reported at 3:33 p.m. and firefighters were on scene within minutes and found the tractor shop ablaze with heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof, Friot said.
Heuvelton firefighters were assisted on scene by fire departments from Morristown and Rensselaer Falls. Lisbon and Brier Hill were on standby.
The fire was brought under control and damage was limit to the roof area.
The loss of equipment was minimal, Friot said.
One person was treated on on scene for smoke inhalation but decline transport to the hospital by Ogdensburg Rescue.

The St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation team was called to the scene and investigator Jerry Mack believes the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring near the roof where the fire began.
The building is owned by Gene Collier. The building was not insured.
