DEKALB JUNCTION – Family Nurse Practitioner Nicole Coates has returned to Gouverneur Hospital’s (GH) DeKalb Junction Health Center, 2924 County Route 17.
Coates may look familiar to people throughout the North Country, as she served St. Lawrence Health patients in various locations. Along with previously working in DeKalb Junction for Gouverneur Hospital, she also worked at the Antwerp Health Center. While wearing her hat for Canton-Potsdam Hospital, she worked for its Student Health Center at St. Lawrence University in Canton.
A native of Gouverneur, she said she is thrilled to be back working in her hometown region.
“It is wonderful to be back working with the St. Lawrence Health staff and seeing so many familiar faces,” Coates said. “It is an honor to be caring for the people of my community.”
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Ms. Coates covers a spectrum of specialties, including pediatrics, women's health, and adult-geriatric care. She provides general and preventative care, conducts check-ups, treats illnesses, orders lab tests, and prescribes medication for children and adults.
